How to fasten the engine (engine brackets)

hey forum.

It's time to fasten my engine to my frame, but I can't decide how to make the brackets! (those pieces of iron, that holds the engine). It's really important for me, that it's really strong, so the engine can't move at all, and the weldings won't break! (ofcourse) I have seen many types of brackets, but in my oppinion, none of them was welded that much...?! Can someone help please.

Michael,

have a look on this picture http://www.minibike.nl/zelfbouw.php?sit ... tekening-3. I used strip 30x6 mm for this rectangular form. With sheetmetal 2,5 mm I made a kind of box directly to the frame. This makes everything very stiff and the engine will not move anymore. You need all the three mountingpoints to fixate the engine, however some people have fixed it with two bolts (the third on top is very difficult to access). Hopefully I will find some time tommorow to take some fotographs of my solution.

I have allready seen his website, but I can't get a real clear view of the weldings, and where the weldings are made. :? This isn't a complain.

But, as you can read, he would see if he could take some pictures, so im just waiting, and still thinking of how to make the brackets.. :)

Hello Michael,

I made some photographs and tried to explain these pictures with some additional text.

hopefully this "sketch" tells a little bit more about my conctruction of the engine bracket.

@Wim, thanks for your compliments.

I did add a small english flag to the website which translates all the text into english. It is a translation done by an internetpage, so sorry for the bad english sentences.

I couldn't find enough time to do the translation, but maybe in the near future :lol:
